On Friday 30 June, Hon. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, visited the House with his delegation and met with Mr. Tadamori Oshima, Speaker.
Speaker Oshima began by welcoming the delegation to Japan, and offered condolences and sympathy to all those affected in the recent terror attack in Pakistan, hoping for the improvement of public security in Pakistan. In addition, he said that he was glad that their countries marked the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties, and thanked Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for vigorously acting as President of the Pakistan-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group for the strengthening of the bilateral relationship.
In reply, the Pakistani Speaker thanked Speaker Oshima for his welcome and expressed expectation for Japanese firms to make greater inroads into Pakistan, mentioning that there were many investment opportunities in his country, including road and railway construction. In addition, he reiterated appreciation for the support Pakistan had received from the Japanese Government, including economic and humanitarian assistance.
They also talked about other subjects including the futher activation of parliamentary exchange.
