On Friday, 2 November, Rt. Hon. Trevor Mallard, Speaker of the House of Representatives of New Zealand, visited the House with his delegation and met with Mr. Tadamori Oshima, Speaker.

Referring to the frequent exchanges including high-level visits between the two countries, which are strategic cooperative partners, Speaker Oshima stated that he wanted to make the Parliamentary World Cup (Rugby) in Japan next year a success together with the New Zealand House of Representatives.

In reply, Speaker Mallard, expressing gratitude to Speaker Oshima for his welcome, stated that he wanted to promote not only further cooperation with Japan on the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP11 Agreement), but also more frequent parliamentary exchanges between the two countries including through sport.
