It is with profound sadness that I learned of the torrential rains across your country, causing enormous suffering to your people through the loss of many lives and flooding of homes.

On behalf of the House of Representatives of Japan, I would like to express our sincere sympathy and condolences for the victims, their families, and all those affected. I pray for the swift recovery and reconstruction of the devastated areas.

I also hope that our countries will continue working with the international community to address COVID-19.
