Chairman of the Mongolian State Great Hural visits Speaker Oshima

On Thursday, 30 May, Mr. Gombojav Zandanshatar, Chairman of the State Great Hural of Mongolia, visited the House of Representatives and met with Mr. Tadamori Oshima, Speaker.

Speaker Oshima, beginning by welcoming Chairman Zandanshatar to Japan, stated that Japan and Mongolia have been interacting closely based on the parliamentarians' friendship leagues of both countries and have established a good relationship between their parliaments. He indicated his hope that exchanges would increase between Mongolia and Japan at the local level through the Host Town program for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In reply, Chairman Zandanshatar, expressing gratitude to Speaker Oshima for his welcome, stated his desire to further develop the strategic partnership between the two countries, with an emphasis on Japan as Mongolia’s third neighbor. He expressed his appreciation for the financial support Mongolia has received from Japan and stressed the need for continued financial and economic assistance.

Other subjects in the meeting included strengthening economic cooperation.
