President of the National Assembly of Madagascar visits Speaker Oshima

On Thursday, 24 October, Mme. Christine Razanamahasoa, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Madagascar, visited the House of Representatives and met with Mr. Tadamori Oshima, Speaker.

Mr. Oshima, beginning by expressing appreciation to Mme. Razanamahasoa for visiting Japan to attend the Ceremony of the Enthronement of His Majesty the Emperor on behalf of the people of Madagascar, conveyed his hope that this visit would not only further develop friendship between the two countries, but also increase exchange between parliamentarians.

In reply, Mme. Razanamahasoa, expressing her gratitude for Mr. Oshima's welcome, stated that it was a great honor to be present at the enthronement ceremony. She also offered her appreciation for Japan's support in agriculture, health and education, and stated the importance of exchange between parliamentarians of both countries.

Other subjects in their meeting included aid from Japan's public and private sectors, special agricultural products in Madagascar, and the common culture between the countries of eating rice.
