On Monday, 3 April, H.E. Ms. Raquel Peña Rodríguez, Vice President of the Dominican Republic, in Japan at the invitation of the Government, visited the House of Representatives and met with Mr. HOSODA Hiroyuki, Speaker of the House.
Speaker Hosoda began by welcoming the Vice President to Japan. He then noted how beneficial to bilateral relations her planned meetings with many Japanese dignitaries would be.
Vice President Peña responded by offering her appreciation for the reception, and stated that she was visiting Japan on behalf of H.E. Mr. Luis Rodolfo Abinader Corona, President of the Dominican Republic. She added that her visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park reaffirmed the importance of peace for her.
They also exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine, technical cooperation and the outstanding performances of baseball players from both countries.
