Speaker Oshima’s meeting with American Speaker
On Thursday, 10 September, Mr. OSHIMA Tadamori, Speaker of the House of Representatives, had a video teleconference with the Hon. Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States of America.
Speaker Oshima began by expressing his appreciation for Speaker Pelosi's efforts in hosting the 18th G7 Speakers' Meeting, held virtually from 12 to 13 September. He remarked that Japan and the U.S. are, and will continue to be, partners of crucial importance for regional and world peace, and this awareness was shared by Speaker Pelosi.
Both Speakers exchanged views on bilateral relations, regional security and the political climates of Japan and the U.S., and they agreed to maintain and further increase favorable parliamentary exchange between their countries.
