On Wednesday, 12 February, Mr. Miloš Vystrčil, President of the Senate of the Czech Republic, in Japan at the invitation of the House of Councillors, visited the House of Representatives with his delegation and met with Mr. NUKAGA Fukushiro, Speaker of the House; Mr. GEMBA Koichiro, Vice-Speaker; and Mr. HAMADA Yasukazu, Chair of the Standing Committee on Rules and Administration.
Speaker Nukaga began by welcoming the delegation to Japan. He then expressed hope that the Czech Republic's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan would help facilitate exchange between the two countries. Mr. Nukaga also stressed the importance of continuing cooperation between the two nations, which share values such as freedom and democracy, to maintain peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region and the international order.
Mr. Vystrčil responded by mentioning that the bilateral exchange between Japan and the Czech Republic spanned more than 100 years. He expressed hope that the delegation's visit to Japan would help greatly enhance the parliamentary relationship and economic ties.
They also discussed exchange between the two nations' young musicians, as well as regional and global situations.
