On Thursday, 18 September, Hon. Advocate Jacob Nzwidamilimo Francis Mudenda, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Zimbabwe, visited the House of Representatives with his delegation and met with Mr. NUKAGA Fukushiro, Speaker of the House.
Speaker Nukaga began by welcoming the delegation to Japan. He then touched on the recent visits to Japan by H.E. Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, and welcomed the development of friendship and cooperation between Japan and Zimbabwe. Mr. Nukaga also expressed hope that the Speaker's visit to Japan would help further exchange between the two countries' parliamentarians.
Speaker Mudenda responded by offering his appreciation for the generous development assistance from Japan, including from JICA. He also expressed hope for expanding investment from Japan in the area of energy and strengthening other forms of bilateral economic cooperation.
They also exchanged views on cooperation in the international arena, stable supply of minerals to Japan, digitization of Zimbabwe's Parliament, and Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
