On Friday, 22 May, H.E. Mr. Edi Rama, Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, visited the House of Representatives with his delegation and met with Dr. MORI Eisuke, Speaker of the House, and Mr. KIUCHI Minoru, Chairman of the Japan-Albania Parliamentary Friendship Association.
Speaker Mori began by welcoming Prime Minister Rama to Japan. He then touched on the importance of exchange between the countries' parliaments, including the parliamentary leagues of friendship. Dr. Mori also stated that Japan and Albania are important partners which share values and principles, and expressed hope that the Prime Minister's visit to Japan would help further relations between their countries.
Prime Minister Rama responded by offering his appreciation for the reception. He also expressed hope for strengthening cooperation with Japan in a wide range of areas, including the economy and investment.
They also exchanged views on regional issues.
