Members of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland visit Speaker Mori


On Tuesday, 2 June, a delegation from the Sejm of the Republic of Poland headed by Mr. Robert Dowhan, Chairperson of the Polish-Japanese Parliamentary Group, in Japan at the invitation of the House of Representatives, visited the House and met with Dr. MORI Eisuke, Speaker of the House, Mr. ISHII Keiichi, Vice-Speaker, and Mr. NUKAGA Fukushiro, Chairperson of the Japan-Poland Friendship Alliance in the House of Representatives.

Speaker Mori began by welcoming the delegation to Japan. He then stated that parliamentary exchange between Japan and Poland has greatly contributed to furthering the two countries' long-standing friendship. He also expressed his deep gratitude for the long history of exchange between the countries' parliamentary leagues of friendship.

Mr. Dowhan responded by offering his appreciation for the invitation. He also stated that nearly 400 Japanese companies are operating in Poland and that the country owes much of its economic achievements to investment from Japan.

They also exchanged views on how Poland has taken in evacuees from Ukraine and strengthening cooperation between Japan and Poland in providing support to Ukraine.
