President of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies visits Speaker Mori


On Tuesday, 30 June, Dip. Kenia López Rabadán, President of the Chamber of Deputies of the United Mexican States, in Japan at the invitation of the House of Representatives, visited the House with her delegation and met with Dr. MORI Eisuke, Speaker of the House; Mr. ISHII Keiichi, Vice-Speaker; Mr. YAMAGUCHI Shunichi, Chair of the Standing Committee on Rules and Administration; Mr. NAKAGAWA Yasuhiro and Ms. NISHIOKA Hideko, Directors of the Committee; and Mr. KOTERA Hiroo, Mr. OKUSHITA Takemitsu, Mr. ISHIKAWA Masaru and Mr. MINESHIMA Yuya, Members of the Committee.

Speaker Mori began by welcoming the delegation to Japan. He then touched on the more than 400 years of exchange between the two countries and expressed gratitude to the delegation for visiting Onjuku, Chiba Prefecture, where exchange between Japan and Mexico started. He also expressed hope for furthering exchange between the countries' parliaments and governments.

Dip. López responded by offering her appreciation for the invitation. She also stated that furthering parliamentary dialogue would help the two countries address challenges they are facing and mentioned the promotion of gender equality in Mexican society.

They also exchanged views on the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
