Viet Nam Prime Minister visits Speaker Hosoda


On Wednesday, 24 November, H.E. Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, who was in Japan at the invitation of the government, visited the House of Representatives and met with Mr. HOSODA Hiroyuki, Speaker of the House.

Speaker Hosoda began by welcoming Prime Minister Chinh, who was the first guest from abroad since the Speaker assumed office. He then stated that he hopes the two countries will further promote exchange in the fields of economy, tourism and cooperation in human resources to develop their complementary, mutually beneficial cooperative relationship. He also expressed his wishes for further active exchange between parliamentarians of the two countries.

Prime Mister Chinh replied by offering his congratulations to Mr. Hosoda for assuming office as the Speaker. He stated that relations between the two countries have never been better, almost 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1973. He also noted that along with economic exchange, parliamentary exchange and Vietnamese nationals living in Japan play important roles in bilateral relations.

They also touched on Japan's provision of COVID-19 vaccines to Viet Nam and their cooperation in the international arena.
