Slovenian National Council President visits the House


On Wednesday, 9 November, Mr. Alojz Kovšca, President of the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia, who was in Japan at the invitation of the House of Councillors, visited the House of Representatives with his delegation and met with Mr. HOSODA Hiroyuki, Speaker of the House; Mr. KAIEDA Banri, Vice-Speaker; and Mr. YAMAGUCHI Shunichi, Chair of the Standing Committee on Rules and Administration.

Speaker Hosoda began by welcoming the delegation to Japan. He then touched on how economic ties have developed between the two countries, including more Japanese companies operating in Slovenia. Mr. Hosoda also expressed his hope for further cooperation in various fields, such as technology and energy issues.

President Kovšca responded by expressing his desire to deepen the relationship of trust between Slovenia and Japan, which share the same values, especially as the world becomes increasingly complicated.

They also exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine, the European Union's import restrictions on Japanese food products, and exchange between the two countries' parliaments.
