Romanian President visits Speaker Hosoda


On Monday, 6 March, H.E. Mr. Klaus-Werner Iohannis, President of Romania, in Japan at the invitation of the Government, visited the House of Representatives and met with Mr. HOSODA Hiroyuki, Speaker of the House.

Speaker Hosoda began by welcoming the President to Japan. He then expressed appreciation for a joint statement on the Japan-Romania strategic partnership to be signed during the President's visit.

President Iohannis responded by offering his gratitude for the reception. He also expressed hope for further development of the two countries in a wide range of fields, including the economy, innovation and culture.

They also exchanged views on food and energy issues following the situation in Ukraine, and on the economy.
