Jordanian King visits Speaker Hosoda


On Tuesday, 11 April, His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in Japan at the invitation of the Government, visited the House of Representatives with his delegation and met with Mr. HOSODA Hiroyuki, Speaker of the House.

Speaker Hosoda began by welcoming His Majesty to Japan. He then stated that he is glad that the two countries are maintaining such close ties ahead of next year's 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Mr. Hosoda also expressed hope for the lasting prosperity of the Jordanian Royal Family and for further deepening of their friendship with the Japanese Imperial Family.

The King responded by offering his appreciation for the reception. He also extended his gratitude to Japan for its many years of support, and stated that he hopes their bilateral relations will further develop in a wide range of fields, including Japanese investment in Jordan.

They also exchanged views on regional issues, energy and technical cooperation.
