Vietnamese Prime Minister visits Speaker Nukaga

On Monday, 18 December, H.E. Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, visited the House of Representatives with his delegation and met with Mr. NUKAGA Fukushiro, Speaker of the House.

Speaker Nukaga began by welcoming the delegation to Japan. He then touched on the address to the Japanese National Diet delivered by H.E. Mr. Vo Van Thuong, President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, in the Chamber of the House during his visit to Japan last month on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Mr. Nukaga expressed his intention to facilitate exchange between the two nations' parliamentarians.

Prime Minister Chinh responded by stating that Japan and Viet Nam have been deepening their cooperation in a wide range of areas, including parliamentary exchange. He indicated his hope that the two countries would continue to play complementary roles to each other, further capitalize on the potential of their economies, and cooperate in addressing various challenges, including security and climate change.

They also exchanged views on the bilateral relations between Japan and Viet Nam, which had been elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World, as well as Viet Nam's economic growth over the past 50 years and Vietnamese workers in Japan.
