Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan visits Speaker Nukaga

On Thursday, 22 February, Ms. Dunyagozel Akmukhammedovna Gulmanova, Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, visited the House of Representatives with her delegation and met with Mr. NUKAGA Fukushiro, Speaker of the House.

Speaker Nukaga began by welcoming Ms. Gulmanova to Japan. He then stated that Turkmenistan is an important partner in working together to maintain and strengthen the free and open international order based on the rule of law. Mr. Nukaga also expressed his gratitude for the active exchange between the two countries' governments and parliaments.

Ms. Gulmanova responded by stating that parliamentary exchange is a key part of Turkmenistan's foreign policy and that she intends to work hard toward enhancing such exchange.

They also discussed cultural exchange between the two countries as well as dialogue between Japan and Central Asian nations.
