On Wednesday, 4 December, Dr. Tran Thanh Man, President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, in Japan at the invitation of the House of Councillors, visited the House of Representatives with his delegation and met with Mr. NUKAGA Fukushiro, Speaker of the House; Mr. GEMBA Koichiro, Vice-Speaker; and Mr. HAMADA Yasukazu, Chair of the Standing Committee on Rules and Administration.
Speaker Nukaga began by welcoming the delegation to Japan. He then offered sympathies to the people of Viet Nam who were affected by the typhoon in September this year. Mr. Nukaga stated that close cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan is also beneficial to Asia as a whole and expressed hope for stronger relations between the two countries in a wide range of fields.
Dr. Man responded by congratulating Mr. Nukaga on his reelection as Speaker and offering his appreciation for Japan's assistance for Viet Nam's natural disaster management and large-scale infrastructure projects. He also expressed hope that the two nations will continue to work together as important partners in the region to contribute to global peace and stability.
They also discussed the importance of strengthening cooperation, including exchange at various levels, including that of parliaments, and in the economy and security.
