Resolution calling for improvement of the situation of concern around Ukraine

The House of Representatives resolves as follows:
Located between the EU and Russia, Ukraine plays a geopolitically important role in ensuring regional stability. Japan consistently supports Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. In order to promote the democratization and liberalization of Ukraine and contribute to regional peace and stability, Japan has also been providing support to Ukraine in coordination with the international community, including the G7.
Under such circumstances, since the latter half of 2021, the situation around Ukraine's borders has been destabilized due to moves by foreign powers, and the tense situation continues.
The House of Representatives of Japan expresses its deep concern over this situation and declares that at all times it stands together with the people of Ukraine who wish for stability in their country and the region. Changes to the status quo through force by any country must not be tolerated. The House of Representatives calls on relevant States to engage in diplomatic efforts to swiftly restore regional stability.
The House of Representatives strongly calls on the Government of Japan to put forth its utmost effort, utilizing all available diplomatic resources and in cooperation with the international community, to ease tensions around Ukraine and swiftly achieve peace in line with the will of the House.
