Esteemed Colleague,
I was deeply saddened to learn of the massive eruption of an underwater volcano and the earthquake and tsunami that followed, causing enormous suffering to so many of your people through injuries, the loss of lives and severe damage to homes and social infrastructure.
On behalf of the House of Representatives of Japan, I would like to express our sincere sympathies and condolences for the victims, their families, and all those affected. I pray for the swift recovery and reconstruction of the devastated areas.
