It is with great sadness that I learned of the earthquake, with its epicenter in central Myanmar, bringing about enormous suffering for so many of your people through the loss of lives and with many people still missing.
On behalf of the House of Representatives of Japan, I would like to express our sincere sympathies and condolences for the victims, their families, and all those affected. I pray for the fast progress of your rescue operations, and the swift recovery and reconstruction of the devastated areas.
